Grant Broadhurst Posted April 3, 2006 Share Posted April 3, 2006 Hello All ,I have just been given the shoulder numbers and a shield that belonged to my Grandfather .I have been told he was a Policeman in Luton just before the outbreak of WW2 when he then joined the Military police and went to Rangoon .Are these period pieces and what does the shield represent ?Any help welcome !CheersGrant Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

[attachmentid=33223]This shield would have been worn by the West Sussex Constabulary as a collar badge or even on their epaulettes above their pin number.As for the numbers, I believe they were used before the present system was in use!
