Brian Connor Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Gents, Here is Sgt Wilhelm Kohlmann, an ancestor. Some help on identifying his unit and decoration would be most appreciated. Appears to be PRE-WW1, based on my research in an excellent book by Mr. Coil, detailing uniforms during WW1, so I turn to you for any assistance. Thanks for your time and effort.
Christian1962 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 he is "Feldwebel". The medal is "Militär-Jubiläumsmedaille 1848 - 1898" (Jubilee medal 1898 - 1898). The pic was taken in Josephstadt. Therefore it would be possible that he was a member of IR 36 which had "blassrot" (pale red) as regimental colour. Regards Christian
