Dane 997283 Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 Gentlemen This item was part of a won auction lot with french ODM. I have no clue of origin, but presume, that we are talking former french colony? Does anyone know about this and in the affirmative - what does the inscription tell?
Hendrik Posted February 23, 2019 Posted February 23, 2019 (edited) Hi, A very nice T'ai Federation Order of Military Merit you have there or, to use its French name, the "Ordre du Mérite Militaire des Sip Hoc Chau". The inscription stands for "T'ai Federation". The T'ai Federation was an autonomous zone in Northern Vietnam and Northern Laos and its people were allies to the French in their war against the Viet Minh. Regards, Hendrik P.S. Could someone move this topic to either France or Asia ? Edited February 23, 2019 by Hendrik
Dane 997283 Posted February 23, 2019 Author Posted February 23, 2019 Thank you very much for enlightening me. I was convinced that it would be related to the Middle East, but now it will be gathered with my two other vietnamese decorations.
