Simoncooper Posted April 25, 2021 Posted April 25, 2021 Hi to all, I came across this nice little French Croix de Guerre (1914-16) with its Fourragere, However it has the number 7 attached to it the Fourragere. Can somebody please let me know what it stands for please. Thanks in advance.
Hendrik Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 Hello Simon, The "7" likely refers to the wearer's unit : the 7th Regiment of .... infantry, cavalry, artillery, dragoons, "tirailleurs africains", etc. etc. With the Military Medal fourragère in place, the only unit I can find is the "Compagnie 15/12 du 7e régiment de génie ( 09/08/1917 ) " (source : website France-phaleristique). Regards, Hendrik 1
