Note that he is "Zepelin" with one "p", which was the original name of the family, who are Mecklenburg Uradel. The Württemberg counts descend from this family but use the spelling "Zeppelin". The various Zepelin family members are often misspelled, as "Zeppelin" is a more well-known name due to Ferdinand Graf Zeppelin and his airships.
