    Hello all,

I have attached some pictures featuring medals seen on officers of the short lived Second Republic of East Turkestan (ETR) and am curious if anyone can identify them. One that is of seemingly high importance (worn by itself or with other medals by several high-ranking Uyghur and Tatar politicians/military officers after Xinjiang's incorporation into the PRC) features a star and crescent beneath a small rectangular ribbon.Ehmetjan_Qasimi.jpg.8f2bd45ebe8c50a540a82801109e8224.jpgMarkov_Ishakov.jpg.4ecbdff8c3764f928d1916843194913f.jpgy8dQpQ6qPUcyZQ3J.jpg.64395e1adb7108ced2f8dcc8f23b500e.jpg

Hi, The circular medal has the word 'sadaqat' in an Arabic format script which probably translates as 'sincerity' or 'fidelity'. (There is an Afghan medal of the same name.) I cannot properly read the script on the crescent and of course it may be a transliteration of a word from the Uighur or Kazak language. The word appears to reads 'alataliq' which could mean 'champion' which seems appropriate, but this is a translation from Urdu and may be wholly incorrect. Regards, Owain
