Help identifying brodie helmet marking?

I picked up a brodie type helmet with the following marking on it and I can't find anything similar. Can anybody help identify the badge?

The crest is for the County of Middlesex.      Pete.

M.C.C., Middlesex County Council. The crest was used on WW2 Home Front helmets but they wre painted black.      Pete.
