W.S. Posted August 5, 2023 Posted August 5, 2023 I have a question for you knowledgeable people: Did Army officers always have insignia on their shoulder boards besides rank pips? Like a regimental number? Or could, let's say, an infantry Leutnant's tunic have shoulder boards with nothing on them?
Beau Newman Posted August 19, 2023 Posted August 19, 2023 Some of the Garde Regiments had no devices but, almost all of the other units had numbers, letters, symbols or cypher devices. Some staff officers also tended to not have devices since they were not attached to a particular unit.

I'm putting together a repro m/1910 and I think I'll go without insignia on the shoulder boards. Probably.
