This Egypt battle honour crest (sphinx and number 3) is on a silver dinner fork, made by Harrison Brothers & Howson, in Birmingham 1899.
I'm guessing it's either 3rd Regiment of Foot Guards (Scots Guards) or 3rd (Kent) Regiment of Foot, 'The Buffs'. Both received this battle honour. Or could it refer to a 3rd Battalion of another regiment? I think about 31 regiments had the Egypt honour.
    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

I’d definitely say possibly Scots Guards…😊

It’s not the Buffs, as far as I can see they didn’t get Battle Honour Egypt.

In 1899, as far as I know, regiments has not long been amalgamated to form 2 battalion regiments not upto 3 as yet.

Then there is this already predominant use of the Egypt battle honour by the Scots Guards during Victorian times which still lasts today on their colours. It was also the first Battle Honour emblazoned on their colours though not their first received.
