    Hiya,

Question concerning this medal (Bophuthatswana Police Independence Medal)

    image.png.a68d9fa6598a8ae9458747afc1d05ad6.png

BOPH. POL. IND. MED. = privately done or another variation ??

    Regards, Marcon1.

    Also,

    CP Insignia for Merit (1981-1995)
For (I) particularly meritorious or exemplary service, or (II) 30 years service.

Insignia: A circular silver medal displaying the Ciskeian coat of arms (obverse) and the CP badge (reverse).

According to an official document, there are two variations of this medal. The one as listed, and an alternate variation where the badge is set abaisse and there above a curved inscription 30 YRS.

    Hi Marco,

As far as for the Bophuthatswana Police Independence Medal, it look the same as mine. My picture is unfortunately not clear.

I saw the records regarding a second design for the Ciskeian Police Insignia for Merit 30 Years, but only saw a bad picture of the miniature with the 30 YRS

    Hi Marco,

    Thanks for the pictures.

Good to see the last one is named

I got mine from the stores in Pretoria and seems like both types were issued

No records regarding the two different types

    Hi Megan,

When I started posting on this site, I didn't know how to start a new topic and posted most different Homelands awards under other topics that already exist.

I've tried to get my pictures that I posted on Bophuthatswana Police awards, but couldn't find them.

I have the Bop Medal for Combating Terrorism with a bar.

If you want pictures, please let me know and anything else you would like.

    Have a great evening.

    Regards

    Archie
