Marcon1 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Hi Archie, Again great stuff with many thanks. Have the following 3 medals in my collection. Silver-Gilt. Silver (?) Bronze All 3 with different suspender, any idea - first strikes, prototypes, fakes ?? (All with wrong ribbon). Marcon1. 1
archie777 Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 Hi Marco, I will give you feedback on your medals later Only out currently, but definitely look like samples and not fakes Will it be possible to take clear pictures of both sides, without the ribbons, please I will look what spare ribbons I might have and make a plan to get to you Thanks for sharing Regards Archie
Megan Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Splendid stuff. Lebowa seems to have liked those scalloped edges... 🤓 By the way that kind of semi-circular indentation separated by points is called 'engrailled' in heraldry. Off to scribble some more notes.... Edited April 23 by Megan
archie777 Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 Hi Megan, Yes, you are correct Will see what I can cover tomorrow Regards Archie Hi Marco, Thanks for your trouble. Much appreciated Regards Archie Hi Marco, This is definitely a sample for the Lebowa Police Star for Distinguidhed Service

Marcon1 Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Hi Archie, Just found these black and white pictures. LP Star for Merit or LP Star for Faithful Service sample ?? - different suspender.- without the word SILVER on back. Regards, Marcon1.
archie777 Posted April 23 Author Posted April 23 Thanks this Marco. Its definitely a sample with a different suspender.
Megan Posted August 20 Posted August 20 What are the correct ribbons for the Star and the Medal for Faithful Service, please? Radburn has the Star for Faithful Service as red with yellow edges and a yellow central stripe, and the Medal for Faithful Service as red with white edges. Antonio Prieto Barrio has used Radburn's charts in making his. Archie's ones here are the Star for Faithful Service on a red ribbon with white edges and the Medal for Faithful Service on an orange medal with a brown central stripe. I'm now very confused.
Megan Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Thank you, Marco - I just put up the pages for the Star and Medal for Faithful Service with "ribbon unknown", so these can now be updated. Your help, as always, is appreciated 🤓
