Instituted in 1989

 

Awarded only to members of the SA Police or Reserve Police who have distinguished themselves by performing exceptional deeds of bravery in very dangerous circumstances.

 

Warrant of 17 May 1989, published in the Government Gazette No. 11969, dated 21 June 1989.

Awarded only to members of the SA Police or Reserve Police who have distinguished themselves by performing deeds of bravery in dangerous circumstances.

South African Police 75th Anniversary Medal

 

Instituted in 1988

 

This medal was conferred upon all South African Police Officers serving in 1988. It was awarded in commemoration of the founding of the South African Police on 1 April 1988.

A late friend of mine, who was awarded the South African Police Cross for Bravery (PCF) 

 

What made his story more special is, that his dog saved his life on another occassion and was awarded the Police Good Service Medal (1951) for Bravery
