3/11 "Corse" Fighter Squadron* in Irak.

*Escadron de Chasse 3/11 "Corse**" / EC 3/11 "Corse"

**Corsica or l’île de Beauté / Isle of Beauty

 

“Operation Chammal” which began on September 19, 2014 is still ongoing (9 years, 8 months to this day).
This operation is French and aims to support Iraqi forces against the Islamic State.
In 2015 it extended to Syria to neutralize its training camps.

 

Note: "chammal" is the name of a northen wind in Iraq.
