gjw Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Hello all, can someone let me know if the ribbons for the above medals are the same or different like the Long Service Medals? If different, can you point me to were I can find the correct ribbons? Many thanks my friends Greg
Gordon Craig Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Greg, No picture of medals is included in your post. Regards, Gordon
gjw Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 Hey Gorden, I don't have any yet. I'm trying to determine what ribbons are correct, so when I do find some, I have the correct ribbon. Sorry for the confusion Greg
Philip.S Posted June 20 Posted June 20 Greg, To my, non-reliable😅, knowledge, they are identical, both in ribbon, and in medal, except for the different writing in the centre, and the jet fighter just below. Regards, Philip.S
gjw Posted June 20 Author Posted June 20 Thanks all, I did find the answer I was looking for. Stay well my friends Greg
Megan Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Good to hear that you are sorted. Lukasz has a ribbon chart which shows them nicely: https://www.medals.pl/hu/hu4.htm The Defence Service Medal is awarded for years of service/flight hours/parachute jumps: 40 years/3500 flight hours/3500 jumps - pale blue 35/3000/3000 - green 30/2500/2500 - purple 25/2000/2000 - white 20/1500/1500 - mid-blue 15/1000/1000 - light brown 10/500/500 - yellow All with red edges and a white stripe next to the edge with narrow red and green stripes on it. So plenty for you to collect 🤓 2

Thanks again all! Stay well my friends Greg
Megan Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Don't fret, Greg. As I tell my students, the only stupid question is the one that you do not ask! Now that the marking monster has been slain I shall have more time for medals so shall see about getting my Huhgarian section into better shape. Found some sources for images of this lot, so maybe I'll start with them.
Philip.S Posted June 21 Posted June 21 Megan, I look forward to seeing the HuPR section expand! I wish you luck in finding the relative images and information! Regards, Philip.S
