    Hi everyone,

Is anyone able to help me identify any rank or meaning behind this uniform? Especially the design of cap and stars on the collar? Also any ideas of what the colours of the uniform may be? The photo was taken in either Vienna or Czernowitz I think around 1910.

    many thanks

Not certain which colour  collar , but I’ll try and find a colour picture to show the uniform at least.

Unless someone else has one to hand 🤞

    Hi LMG,

    a little bit more…

this photo shows two different colour uniforms..

The left one is blue and was replaced by the new style in 1907/8. The 1908 onwards uniform, on the right, was ‘pike-gray’ in colour.

below is a decent example of pike gray but it is seen in many faded shades 👇

This is the colour uniform worn in your photo. The facings would indicate the regiment he was in but working that out is beyond me 🤷‍♂️

    cheers
