Transkei Medal - Another unknown variety ??

Hiya,

 

I saw this medal on Bobshop and it looks like a silver medal.

DESCRIBED AS = Transkei 30 Years Service Medal - Full Size, Named Lt. Kol Baker - 1981.

 

However, the only medal in my listings that look like it is = 

Transkei Independence Medal (1976)
Issued to founder members of the force in 1976.

Insignia: A circular bronze medal displaying the Transkei coat of arms (obverse) and "Uzimele 26.10.76" (reverse).

Is this another unlisted variety ???

Or are the bronze versions for the lower ranks and silver for the higher ranks ??

Who can tell me more about it.

Hi Marco,

 

Its definitely not a 30 years medal, but the very scarce silver Transkei Independence Medal, minted and issued to some offivers.

 

The same ribbon as the bronze.
