Hi, can anyone (Archie ??) tell me what the top right blue cross is ??

   (Sorry, this is the best picture I can do).

I know the others, but this one is unknown to me.

Hi Marco,

 

All the awards on your picture, were designed for all Municipal/Metropolitan Police Services in South Africa and not only for the City of Ekurhuleni.

 

The cross on the top right is the Canine & Equine Cross for Bravery, awarded to all animals, dogs and horses for bravery in the line of duty.

Thanks Archie, That was the only one that I did not have a picture from.

I found the above picture on Bobshop offered as South African Inauguration Medal for Ekurhuleni Police - Year 2000 , therefor I thought they were the one issuing these medals - I will amend my records.

 

I also need your help for this one. 

FULL SIZE SA ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION MEDAL AWARD TO C.G. CLOETE 28/07/93-AWARDED TO MEMBERS WHO GUARDED THE INSTITUTION, NORMALLY EX POLICE MEMBERS -NUMBERED 50-SCARCE.

 

As a ex police officer yourself, do you know anything about this medal - maybe from your ex colleagues.

What was it given for - Long Service, Good Conduct, Bravery etc ??

Are there others, gold version, bronze version ??

Are they official, semi-official or just "a thank you" medal ??

 

Any info would be welcome.

50 of those awards were issued on 19 April 1994.

2 x Gold

30 x Silver

38 x Bronze

 

Attached article is unfortunately in Afrikaans, but mentioned the names of all recipients. Unfortunately no pictures of all 3 classes

Mine is numbered 50 and named/dated to Cloete CJ 93.07.28

So it looks like there are more than the above 50 medals out there, now I need to find a gold and bronze medal.
