svapr Posted January 26 Posted January 26 Hello, I would like to ask for advice. Is this an early form of the Order of Academic Palms? I haven't found one with a crown anywhere. Thanks.
Supernaut Posted January 27 Posted January 27 The crown looks like the Spanish Republican one https://elartedelahistoria.wordpress.com/2009/04/14/el-escudo-republicano/ Regards Nacho
Great Dane Posted January 27 Posted January 27 A lot of French cities/counties used a mural crown on local decorations. One example is the many local life-saving medals. My money is on a local French issued decoration with similar award criteria as the Academic Palms.
No one Posted January 28 Posted January 28 Dear Gentlemen, If I may, this decoration has nothing to do with the Palmes Academiques. Palmes Academiques : an olive branch and a laurel branch intertwined, not an olive branch and an oack branch with acorns. Yours sincerely, No one
