Michaelwave Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Good looking medal I got. A bit scratched and not perfectly preserved. Out of curiosity I’d like to ask if you guys are interested in those civilian/ labor medals and so on as much as I am. From my experience I would say that most people prefer military awards. 3
Wat05 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 I still like these civil and labour awards. Something really nice about them, with a beautiful design! And they can often have a great story behind them too! 1
Eric Gaumann Posted February 12 Posted February 12 Soviet labor awards are very interesting to me. Lots of great designs. I have 6 display centered around labor awards, like farming, mining, railways etc. 1
livesinayurt Posted February 12 Posted February 12 This is a great piece! For me, the labor and civilian awards are the most interesting aspects of Soviet awards. Every country has lots of interesting military awards, but the Soviet (and other countries behind the iron curtain) were kind of unique in their extensive awards for all sorts of things. Some of the civilian and labor awards (e.g. Friendship of Peoples, Red Banner of Labor, Badge of Honor) are also some of the most aesthetically appealing to me as well. 1
