Rich Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) Hello all I have a named French medal for devotion and courage named to one of the survivors of the 20 company, 5 battalion, 1RE that was caught in a blizzard on 1-2 February 1908 whilst on the march. Information here https://foreignlegion.info/1908-forthassa-disaster/ It seems a number of the survivors were awarded bravery medals for their endeavours that night, of which Monsieur Dumas was one. Looking at his service record it seems he lost a toe and a bit to frostbite and I cannot see any further service, so presumably he was invalided out? It lists his campaigns and dates I was wonderig whether this suggests he was entitled to any campaign medals for his service in the Far East and North Africa. It seems the Sahara bar was no longer awarded and he does not seem to have been stationed in Morocco. Thanks Richard Edited February 14 by Rich
