I've always considered it a vanity self-purchase piece like all the others (including the German medal from THAT "Ehrenlegion" next to it)

BUT

the bizarre thing is, I have NEVER seen the "Austrian" cross...

on an Austrian trifold ribbon.

Nope.

Never.

Not once.

ONLY in German groups.

Hmmmmmmm.
