turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 This page lists his promotions, the awarding of the China Denkmünze (unfortunetaly the citation is gone) and the combat operations the participated in.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 This page shows his release from military service and his posting to the Gendarmerie in 1908.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 He was recalled to serve with the MP in Russia in 1917.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 He was released from service and posted back to the Gendarmerie in June 1918.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 Now I´ll show his award documents. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, the citation for the China Denkmünze is missing, so I´ll show the first citation I have of him. The Dienstauszeichnung I. Klasse award in 1914.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 He was awarded the Eisernes Kreuz II. Klasse on 06.08.1918, most probably for his service in Russia during 1917/1918.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 (edited) He got the Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe on 08.01.1920. His rank is Fußgendarmeriewachtmeister. Edited December 31, 2012 by turtle
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 As many WWI veterans did, he joined the Kyffhäuser veterans organisation and got himself the Kyffhäuser Kriegsdenkmünze.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 He was retired in 1932 and got the Ehrenkreuz für Kriegsteilnehmer in 1935.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 But he wasn´t able to live a happy retirement life because another war started and many younger police officers were needed elsewhere so his skills were needed again. So back in uniform he got the Polizei Dienstauszeichnung I. Stufe.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 He was rewarded for his service with the Kriegsverdienstmedaille on 01.09.1944. The citation was signed by Hans Haltermann. http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/SS-POLIZEI/SS-Gruf_H-N.html
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 The next document I want to show you is his Wehrpaß opened in 1939.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 His police soldbuch. All SS runes were carefully scratched away.
turtle Posted December 31, 2012 Author Posted December 31, 2012 I also have his promotion document to the rank of Vize-Feldwebel
