Naxos Posted May 14, 2009 Author Posted May 14, 2009 The pips and number have been on this shoulder board for a long time. It is a very heavy, elaborately built shoulder board. As Glenn posted, there was no Oberst in charge of this Regiment throughout the war. My questions are: 1. Could this board be from a pre war FAR64 commander in the rank of an Oberst? (Was there one?) 2. Would have Wagner, after having left the Regiment, still worn his old boards as an Oberst?
Speedy Posted May 23, 2009 Posted May 23, 2009 In the rank list of 1911 of the Royal Saxon Army there was no Oberst commander of any field artillery regiment.
