Hi Mike

A super collection of books you have there. One I don't see in your collection is the series writen by J.H. Breytenbach "Geskiedenis van die Tweede Vryheidsoorlog" or History of the Second Boer War (loosely translated). You probably don't have it because it was published in Afrikaans. It is a very handy series for reference.

One favour Mike

Can you please check if my great grandfarther, one Henry William Gilbert's QSA is mentioned in your book the Medal Roll of the QSA to the Brithish Navy and Marines by Spink.

He served on HMS Doris and his enlistment number was 190549. Will appreciate it.

Norman - under British Navy (next one down) half way down page 2 - under - British Navy First Three Months of Boer War - the first picture shows HMS Doris. A very strange name for a British warship. The crew must have spent their time fighting the crews of other ships ?
