Wehrmacht 40 Ribbon Bar Identifiable Group 01 Closeup

Note that cheap General Voigtl?nder-Tetzner has taken his no doubt pre-war ribbon bar and simply updated it with a wartime* 40 device requiring these TWO devices to be added. As a result, his eagles do not match as a pair. The prongs probably broke off trying to remove the original 25 device that had been in first place.

    * I have been unable to determine if Genneral officers ONLY were actually awarded 40 years long service devices during the war, or if they simply presumed to wear such when they felt they were entitled to them. For mere mortals, processing of all Wehrmacht long service awards ceased with the outbreak of the war and was never resumed. I have seen paperwork dating from 1940 for such delayed 1939 awards, but never any later.

    His awards are

    1) Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914
    2) Prussian Hohenzollern House Order 3X
    3) Saxon Order of Saint Henry-Knight (Saxony's highest award)
    4) Saxon Albert Order-Knight 1st Class with Crown and Xs
    5) Hindenburg Cross for WW1 Combatants
    6) Wehrmacht 40
    7) Wehrmacht 12

The ribbon of the 1939 War Merit Cros was worn in his 2nd tunic button.

This photo dates from after his poromotion to Generalmajor zV on 1 October 1941, while he commanded Artillery Replacement Regiment 4, 1940-42.
