    1. I wonder if it's him? Thanks for the confirmation Rick.
    2. Sam, I thought that too for a while but then wondered if they still wore both cockades. It would be nice if he is Freikorps. Thanks Tony
    3. Imagine having to lug those shells up to the front while under fire, never mind the mud, rain, flies, stench etc. Tony
    4. Here are a few photos I find interesting and hope some of you do too. What do these collar dogs indicate, anyone know? Tony
    5. Hello, Can anyone tell me which unit there two may be members of? Do you think they're in India, SA or somewhere else? Ta Tony
    6. Scottish Borderers Dan. The caption under the picture reads - Scottish Borderers set up a captured Hotchkiss machine gun to help clear the remaining Nazi stragglers out of the town centre. Tony
    7. I believe the red chevron denotes 1914 or pre 1914 overseas service. The blue ones were instituted in about 1918 for service from 1915 onwards. Tony
    8. Mike, I was well chuffed with my first reunite a while back, but as mine was from the Great War and I already had the BWM, I consider it to have been a far easier reunite than that of a Victorian soldier's medals. Well done! Tony
    9. Thanks again Graham. They sure are large aren't they. I think I'll stick them on GMIC for sale first and then the well known auction site if they don't go. Cheers Tony
    10. Thanks Chip, it sounds like the pic is better than I thought. I've been lucky where postcards are concerned lately. Tony
    11. Are these 3 in the Marine Korps Flandern? They are in the 3rd Matrosen Regiment Pionierzug. Does anyone know where this unit may have served, all over the place or just on the coast? Tony
    12. I really like this one and wonder if any of them survived in one piece. KRR Camp 1914. G.W.S. is marked X (back row just left of centre), unfortunately no names present. Also added is 'prior to enrolement' but at a much later date going by the handwriting. Tony
    13. Nothing on the reverse of this one. I'm not even sure if it's pre or post 1918.
    14. I've managed to find a couple more that I like. First up is Arnie of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade feeling the cold in France, Jan 1917. He's also looking forward too seeing Alex on his side of the Channel.
    15. A great photo Rick, I wouldn't think you'll see many with that badge. Tony
    16. Thanks Graham, that's good news. Just have to find out what I could get for them now. Aren't they too large for collar dogs? Here's a SWB between them for size comparison. Tony
    17. Hello, I picked these badges up years ago before hearing of restrikes and fakes. As I?m going to have to raise some funds at the hurry up, I was wondering if any of you could say from the photos if they?re obvious restrikes or good originals. Both are quite heavy and aren?t bendy. Ta Tony
    18. Jim, That colour scheme must have been a bit hard on the eyes. Tony
    19. Does anyone know if these Old Bill / Bruce Bairnsfather 'where's that blinking Kaiser?' piggy banks are copied? This one doesn't have the Grimwades stamp. Tony
    20. Thanks for the confirmation Chris, it fits in with Johnsy's comment. Here?s another postcard I bought the other day. Probably taken in late 1918/early 1919, the man in civvies is wearing his SWB, the signaller has a brass wounded stripe and the lance jack could be a farrier if that thing on his arm is a horseshoe badge. Anyone know who has a white lanyard, was it the RA or AOC? Tony
