FINALLY got myself a military medal!been wanting one of these ever since i started collecting(even when i was collecting german medals!!) after seeing a broken erased one in an auction!!! nothing mad special just to a Royal Field Artillery guy!got it in late 18 so not much detail on how he got it!on the rim is 116509 GNR-L.BMBR:-A.CROSS A.315/A BDE:R.F.A might not be to a famous reg but i love it!!has a bit of research on the guy but im going to get a better copy of his MIC card to see what else he got!i think its been cleaned but not dipped! i dont mind that to much either!!!any way here she is and she will be going right next to my military cross!!! :beer:
    5. just came back from paris and got this little bar thrown in for free in a deal!just wondering is the last ribbon a faded croix du guerre? any help would be great!!!
    6. just came back from paris ans this shop http://www.techmili.com/Magasins/Lepoilu/Le_poilu.htm was good!picked up a Tunisian order and the guy threw in a nice french bar with the deal!and he was cool with haggling over price also hes RIGHT by the metro!!!!

    8. picked this order of Nishan al-Iftikhar up in paris (i think its also french made)and i was wondering does anyone know the period as i cant match up the cypher in the center with a few cyphers iv seen on line and here on gmic(theres another thread with a table of cyhpers but no luck!!)any help would be great!!(sorry for the c#ap pics there about the best i can do till monday!) :beer:

    13. picked this war medal up at a fair today and its named to R.Hughes STO.1 R.N.,i was wondering if anyone might be able to help me with some info on the guy or what ship he servied on!also from what im told they normally have the ships name on them but this one doesn't,is that common? any help would be fantastic! :beer:
    14. having picked up a imperial service medal recently myself i do have to say that they are a very very well made medal and quite attractive! as you said it is quite an under valued medal!!!
    15. i have to say after getting this set i am quite fond of them and im going to see if i cant get a few more!the detail on them is simply amazing and well i probably wouldnt have been able to afford the full set!!!it is a pity the we cant get a name but that life i guess! :beer:

    17. so was thinking about this bar and im going to take a stab at his career! joined in late 1918 maybe didnt leave the army till after the war then rejoined after 36 and was there for ww2 but not in a active area of operation so didnt get the 39-45 star(which i meant about asking why the 39-45 was missing!sorry bout that!) and during this time he was awarded the BEM and then qualified for the general service medal and was at some point in Palestine!i suspect this guy was a desk jockey during ww2!!!pity we cant get an ID!!would i be right??(again its a wild stab at this!!)thanks again!! :beer:

    21. so i am over with the girlfriend visiting her friends and i managed to pick this up in a little shop in shrewsbury!its a nice 7 place mini with a nice British Empire Medal on it! my question though about it is,who would this be to? (officer NCO or enlisted?) also shouldnt there be a 39-45 medal on it? and finally any chance of an ID as the BEM isnt to common! any help would be great!!thanks!! :beer:

    24. well iv been to hung over to actully clean it but if im half way with it this paddys day il give it a light cleaning in mild soapy water! by the way does anyone know where i can get an original suspension from??? :beer:
