Thank you Gentlemen.
Alex; Yes, that first one is indeed a tough one to find.
Paul; As far as I'm aware, these were just membership badges.

I have this one...

I can't decide which I prefer
Not a problem, but it is true, it's not easy to be 100% sure all the time....

Here's my version of the badge.

I personally feel that they are original otherwise I wouldn't have purchased them, but these days who can say for sure.
Yes Hüsken shows them, the 1997 edition shows the latest one I've shown & new edition shows the fisrt ones posted here. Neither edition shows the version without the starburst.

Thank you Joe. Yes it is odd, assuming of course that they are originals.... :wacky:

And as before, a side by side comparison.... You may need to click on the image to see it full size.

I recently came across another with a slight variation again. This time the starburst is finer & the arms of the Swastika are slightly shorter. Probably just a die cutter's variation....

Welcome to the forum Dr Harmelink. What sort of help do you need?

Very interesting Odulf, thank you. Unfortunately I am not a tinnie collector & do not know of the one that you mention. Do you have a picture of the design?
Thanks

I'm afraid that these are not my area so I cannot offer advice. Hopefully one of our other members may be able to assist.
Sorry

That's an excellent site John, I shall keep the link to that one for future reference. Thanks for posting it.

I hate to be the bringer of bad news but I'm afraid that these are fantasy pieces produced in the 1970's. They have been cropping up all over the place & causing many arguments on the various forums.
However any Channel Island collector will tell you that they never existed during the period & none have been found on the islands.
Sorry

I don't know beans about tinnies.
Nor me, but from what I can see there aren't any red flags. Hopefully Pete will be able to shed more light on them....

I am sorry that no one has answered you earlier. I'm afraid that I know very little about tinnies. From what I understand, this one is the day badge for Gau Essen, & is a similar design to the Gau honour badge awarded by the Gauleiter.

Very nice Pete.
It is indeed very surprising just how big some of these meetings were. As you say, we tend to think of them as small one day events (& some of them were), but as this shows, they could last several days. It's the same with the shooting events, the shortest was one or two days, but some went on for almost two weeks....
Thanks for showing it, I forund it very interesting.

You see these sort of items all over Bavaria, both brand new & antique. They seem to be very popular forms of jewellery.
Joe, though that you may be interested in seeing this image....

Hi Robert,
You may be interested in this link from our Fascism in Europe area http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/4330-steirischer-heimatbund/
These badges come in two sizes, a large plastic at 31mm across the centre, which are always unmarked, & small, 21mm across, which is generally metal (zinc based) but I'm told can be found in plastic as well. Usually the metal ones are unmarked but they do turn up with this Grossman mark.
The badge that I have posted on that link is the unmarked large version. Here is my Grossmann version for you to compare.... Personally, I do noty know of any other items made by them.

in Germany: Third Reich: Organisational Membership Badges & Tinnies

Hi Joe
The full name is "Reichsverband der Wirtschaftsleiter (VELA) which roughly translates as "National Association of Economy Managers" which I think was basically something similar to a trade association for economic managers. The Vela I think was an older group that was either a sister organisation or maybe sat above the RdW (I'm not fully sure of the connection), it stood for "Vereinigung der leitenden Angestellten in Handel und Industrie", again roughly the "Association of Executives in Trade and Industry".
