Hi Sergey,
Thank you for posting this, I was hoping that someone would have one
I have only seen this badge with this maker mark once before, several years ago, & it was (& may still be) owned by a collector in Denmark.
I have no idea whether they are original or not but you do not see them very often.
Thank you again for posting it.
Cheers

Hi James,
Good to see you still visit. A couple of nice pieces, I assume that they are unmarked?

Good morning Sergey.
An interesting & controversial badge you have posted. This is considered by many collectors to be a fantasy badge based on the very rare 3/204 Himmighausen badge (see below) which was shown in the period Assmann catalogue.
A very big RAD collector in Germany named Michael Jonas believes that the 4/305 Braunschweig badges are genuine prototype examples, however many other collectors now feel that they are fantasy/fake.
Thanks for posting your badge, I hope that you will show more of your collection.
Cheers

Don, thanks! I have washed it slightly. Water and soap do miracles. One more sign from this series.
Ah! So that is your secret
I do not clean my badges, I prefer to leave them as I find them.
The Hessen-Nassau is a nice piece as well. Thank you for showing it.

Thank you for showing it.

It was I who ordered the badge from Weitze on Friday as I wished to see what it looked like in hand. I am very sceptical as to whether these badges are original, the reason being that in all the years that I have been collecting, I have never seen or heard of this badge before it appeared in the new Hüsken catalogue issued a few weeks ago.
That would not normally be a problem, as I often find badges that I've never seen before & many of them are original. However, when a badge that I've never seen before turns up for the first time in a book & then within a few weeks of publication they are being sold on a dealers site, alarm bells start to ring.
They may be original, I do not know, but I think we need tp see how many more turn up in the next few weeks/months.

I'm afraid that I've never seen anything like it sorry. Maybe one of the other members may be able to help.

I'm sorry to say that the enamel "Nesselwang" is considered by most enamel collectors to be a fake based on a very similar design, "all metal" tinnie, see here for an original http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443963&highlight=nesselwang
The enamel versions appeared in the 1970's around the same time as the DRK sisters badges with the coloured borders, the DRK alpine rescue badge & the various NSFK enamel fakes.
Sorry

Could it not be a Nationaal-Socialistische Beweging (NSB) tinnie? Way out of my sphere of knowledge but thats my theory.
Cheers
Chris
It's definitely not Dutch (well, not pre '45 Dutch), or any of the pre '45 Scandinavian NS groups.

That's not a bad price I guess, may be worth taking the risk just in case some info turns up on it in the future. It could still be a mordern fantasy item though......
If you decide not to take it let me know

I must admit it's kinda cool..... Did you buy it? What was the dealer asking for it?

Never seen another in 40 years.
Me either.......
I suspect that it could be modern, especially with the subdued Swastika around the outside of the wolfsangle.

Hi William,
It's difficult to see the mark on my screen, is it A.TH like the one in post 15 & 16?
If so, it's a possibility that the mark was for A. Tham, Gablonz a.N. but that's only speculation at this time.

From what I understand, these were generic medals produced by various manufacturers (the catalogues show hundreds of designs). The shooting clubs etc just selected which design they wished to use for any particular shoot.
As to the ribbon, all of the Third Reich era shooting ribbons I've seen have been green & white. It's just an unfortunate coincidence that the one shown above happens to have come from the same area that used the green/white colours.

Indeed Lorenzo is correct, it is German. These were made during the mid 1920's to show opposition to the Dawes Plan named after Charles Dawes who chaired a committee, to decide on how to collect the reparations from Germany.
It failed & a few years later the Young plan took it's place. As expected pins were produced to oppose that as well (I have one somewhere, if I can find it I'll post it).
The reverse should be marked to the NSDAP.

Sorry for my late reply Troy, I don't come into the tinnie section so much & have been working on the Organisational area.
Start a new thread is probably best if you have several Tag der Wehrmacht tinnies to show.
I've also added your May Day tinnies to the database list above, thanks for your support of the forum & I'll try to pop into the tinnie section more often

Thank you again Gentlemen, it's much appreciated.
I've finally had time to go through the posts & add the new Hüsken catalogue numbers, HH now refers to the 1997 edition & Hü to the new 2010 edition.
I've also replaced the special characters that had been lost so we now have ü & ä etc again.

Hi Pete,
When these were discussed over on WAF last year it was suggested that it could be for the Baltische Landswehr, but it wasn't confirmed as far as I can remember.
I'm sure this is shown in the "Unknown" section of the new Hüsken???
