Thought I'd post this rare image here, one being worn.....
Thanks James,
At the moment it is still a theory, but out of all of the red tranclucent ones I've seen so far, none have had more than 3 digits while the others are all higher.

Can't help I'm afraid Dave, as it's a new one on me. I've sent you a pm though with some advice on where to look.

Low number, in this case 015.....

Here's what I believe to be the early form, probably from the late 1920's. These can also be found as a pinback, always with the prefix "A" before the number for some unknown reason.

Thanks Nick, that's very helpful.
From what I've seen so far, all of the badges with opaque orange enamel have high numbers. Ones with translucent red enamel which show the pebbling underneath are always low (under 1000). I think this shows that we have early & late forms of these badges/pins.
Here's my later form.

Nice one Nick. I'll dig mine out later, what's the number if you don't mind me asking?

I must admit it looks too nice.......
Having said that I do have some minty items (not door paltes) in my collection that I have no doubt are original period pieces.

These are nice looking badges. Unfortunately they are considered to be fantasy items by hunting enthusiasts & collectors who state that this design was never made during the period.........
Sorry Nick.

Alex,
Robert has hit the nail on the head with this one. What gives it away in this case is the pin retaining plate, these small oval types with clipped ends are only seen on post war badges.
It is also generally accepted with these particular badges that the only maker was J. Preissler, Pforzheim. They were all numbered but no higher then five digits.

Nice music tinnie you found there Robert. It may interest you to know that the symbol on it is for the Reichsverband f?r Volksmusik, here's their membership badge.

Indeed I have Robert, the Oberstein weighs 5.6g & the 3D weighs 6.0 so almost half a gram difference.

From what I've seen there seems to be quite a few variations available with the M1/8 badges, there's also a version without the dash - between the L & S as well. They all appear to be accepted by collectors....
Thanks for showing them Robert.

Well done Robert, a very nice find indeed. I've never seen a tinnie from them before.

Yes, from what I understand they were re-designed several times. So I think that as one design came in the other had to be returned, but I'm not 100% sure.

Joe,
It's only conjecture that it's FNR & could just as easily be PNR, NR or RN. This is the best image I have at the moment, a little out of focus I'm afraid.

Nice one Nick. I'm still kicking myself, I found a silver 800 marked one the other week & didn't get it quick enough

And very nice too........
You know this manufacturer plagues me, it was such a prolific producer of badges yet so far I've been unable to discover their name. I'm hoping that at some point a common trait will be spotted between a badge with their symbol on & one with an RZM number & then the mystery will be solved.

Sorry Joe, missed your posting somehow.....
Nice looking pin there. I would assume a Turnerbund/Turnverband pin for shooting, not seen one before.

Bob,
Thank you so much for posting these images, you have made my month!!!!![:jumping:](https://gmic.co.uk/uploads/default_jumping.gif)
I first heard of this flag a couple of years ago while investigating the sale of the items removed from the German Embassy in London in 1945. My particular interest were a set of flags with London areas in their corner patches.
By luck the purchaser of some of the flags had recently died & his widow had donated them to the Australian memorial who in turn sent the English ones to the Imperial War Museum London. They felt that the Sidney one may have been altered from one of the UK ones by the purchaser, but of course this may not be the case & as you say it could well be from the German Embassy in Australia.
Rather than post all the images etc I have here I shall post the link to the original thread on the other forum. I apologise for linking to another forum but I do beleive that it is a valid reason, if there are objections then I shall repost them here. http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc...73/m/1320097923
Cheers & thanks again Bob!
