Nice one Joe, the only MW I can find in the RZM listings is M.Winter, M?nchen, possibly them?
Here's one with a different maker, Christian Theodor Dicke, L?denscheid....

Thought it might be helpful to have a size comparison.

Came across a mini recently, not in such a good condition, all of the silver wash has worn away.

This is the standard type III members badge used between 1939-'44. These would be for women who paid a monthly or weekly subscription to the Frauenschaft. The ones I showed above were for staff - people actually employed by the organisation, but not members of the NS party.
Hope this helps.

And very nice it is too!.
I don't know much about these at all. I do know that I've never seen one with a maker mark, only ever Ges.Gesch, & for some reason when they do turn up they're always expensive.
Thanks for showing it.

Here are a couple of badges for those members of the Frauenschaft who were not members of the Party. Only NSDAP members were allowed to wear the version with the Eagle & Swastika, the others had to wear the sun wheel version.

Well I still haven't managed to find the red bordered version yet, however I did find the "München" version HH 2702d.

I'm not totally sure, but I suspect that the BDR & the DRB (Deutscher Radfahrer Bund) were brought together under the DRV in the same way that the NS's bought all the women's groups together under the cloak of the Frauenschaft, & all the vets into the RTB. Easier to keep an eye on one organisation.

Nice little pin there, but as you might suspect I prefer the DRV

Nice badge Nick, as you say, shame about the chip.
Interesting "N" mark on the reverse, is it a scratch or an actual mark?

somehow i don?t like to use empire for Hitlers Reich. It almost has an own meaning and is quite well known amongst english-speaking people.
This is very true, it has now taken on a meaning of it's own. The word is recognised all over the world & doesn't need translating when used in association with NS material.

I doubt that you will get a different answer to the ones you got when it was posted before http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=4003
