While we are showing off our lids, thought you may like to see mine.

A nice lid there Tony, can't help with the strap I'm afraid, a new one on me
. However, I don't think you have anything to worry over, they used a multitude of different parts on these.
As a side note, thought you may like to see one of the pictures I have showing HJ boys wearing this style, complete with the neck guards.

I'm not a big tinnie collector, but I pick the occasional one up now & again. I found these 2 by accident while sheltering from the rain in a doorway in Salzburg last week......

Here's a picture that came in with a group of unrelated pix I picked up. Keep meaning to bung it up for sale & keep forgetting.

Thanks for the link Ralph very interesting. Some nice ones you have as well Chris.
As promised, her are the only ones I have. As mentioned before, they came as part of a deal, I don't even know if they are genuine.

What was the castle that you reach using an old DUKW. I remember a good deal of WW2 German stuff, uniforms etc on display.
That would be Elizabeth Castle. I think I have some snaps of a few of the bit's & bobs that they have on display. I'll check when I get home.

Excellent set of pictures Gordon. I assume the French ones are still there as well?
Do you know if any are open for the public to visit?

Sorry Pete, it's a new one on me
VDE is usually the Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker, so my best guess is if it is related to these, perhaps they had some sort of conference in Hamburg that year.
Thanks for showing it, a nice badge.

Great shot.
Shame that due to the light we can't see whether she's wearing the Postchutz buckle or the an SS one. Can you tell from the actual image Gordon?

Other side. The colours are a bit off I'm afraid, too bright a light. I'll have to retake them when I get time.
