    1. Well, I thought we were discussing the RK, not the higher grades of which I know nothing.
    2. I’m hoping for another visit soon and being able to share more wonderful items!
    3. This cased Crown Order Breast Star has been on US eBay forever now, asking is 3k. Nice original piece but expensive!
    4. Lew, it’s nice to see an Austrian Iron Crown Order, too bad it doesn’t have the ribbon. Back in my “Buy Anything in a Case” phase I had an extensive Austrian collection including a couple of these cased. Almost all of them came from Detlev. The Iron Crown gets its’ name from a small oval of iron inset in the base of the crown. The enamel work on this order is spectacular and it was one of my favorites, even more so than the Leopold Order. Thanks for sharing this piece!
    5. The BMVM case is quite rare. I’ve only had one over the years, it was in an extensive group to a Bavarian baker I bought from Detlev years ago. It was a pretty nice group, everything was cased, documents and a huge stein from the Bavarian Baking Association. Since I’ve lost my photo archives I can’t share any images. If I remember correctly I paid about $1800 for the group. The Bravery Medal was silver and in excellent condition. A little unusual that two empty cases would show up in such short order, hope that they are not being faked now!!
    6. The Red Eagle was shown in my Traveling Circus Thread, there was some discussion there about the Kaiser’s ODM.
    7. This bar on US eBay, asking is $850, looks good to me except the mounting precedence seems a little weird. Comments?
    8. The seller in Germany who split up the last two AO I posted is now offering a later AO1, split from its’ case at $735 for the cross and $308 for the case! Silver gilt, marked cross and case for Scharffenburg
    9. Really atrocious PLM copy with fake WW2 swords and oak leaves attached, offered as “vintage” at $2125!!
    10. A tough piece to find, too bad you don’t have the suspension loop and ribbon, but still a nice example
    11. Crown Order 2 relisted with a BIN of $1900, Red Eagle 4 relisted with a BIN of $610
    12. People are simply crazy! The fake 1813 EK1 is currently up to $1630 and the fake PLM is up to $1195! I just don’t understand this nonsense. These pieces are clearly copies!
    13. Good Morning Bernd, I’m going to have to disagree with you on this, the St. Henry was a bravery award only. Military Merit was awarded the Albert Order or Merit Order without swords. Unless you can show me in the statutes otherwise.
    14. Kind of a watered down award criteria given it was originally given for extreme bravery in war.
    15. Final Bids on these copies: ”1870 EK1”: $754! ”1870 EK2” $937! people are going to be seriously disappointed when they find out these were copies!! I don’t understand how you can even “collect “ without doing any research on your subject. It seems that there’s an awful lot of money changing hands here. The seller of these items has a never ending supply of them and that alone should have been a huge red flag for the buyers!
    16. And again, same seller, 1870 EK2 with oak leaves and repeat spange. Current bid, $305
    17. Good Morning Tony, this is pretty interesting, looking forward to seeing more!
