Hello Gents
Does anyone identify this KzS proudly wearing his Turkish War Medal? The series of this ceremony is found from different sources and on one of the photos back it says Grossadmiral Dönitz. And it is claimed to be taken on the day Prinz Eugen was launched in 22 Aug 1938.
Please do share your views.

One more signature to identify. This time from the home front (at least for me!)
A handwritten Turkish War Medal document from Istanbul. Does anyone has an idea if it is signed Braun or something else?

I also posted rest of the grouping on the 4th Ersatz Division thread

And some feldpost from the same grouping.

Hello
I have a grouping from this Division for Bernhard Kniep. The grouping has an EKII Doc. signed by the Div. Kom. Albert von Werder. I also have some photos from the frontline if you are interested.
I hope this helps on your research on the 4th Ersatz Division.
Now I am wondering how come this soldier from this division earned the Turkish War Medal, does anyone has any information on their activity in the Eastern Front?

Hi,
The commander of the 4th Ersatz Division was Albert von Werder (22 July 1852 - 3. July 1936).
Thank you so much Dave!

And the second document from the Bernhard Kniep konvolut is a Hanseatic Cross document.

Hello I have two signatures that I want to find out the owners. First one is on a very handsome EKII Doc from a grouping to Bernhard Kniep (EKII, Hanseatic Cross, Hindy and a Turkish War Medal owner).
Thanks to Kevin for referring this thread to me!

Hessian has much wider red stripes.

Dave, it is a reversed color red and white TWM ribbon, just like the non combatant Iron Cross ribbon. Why it comes before the Honor Cross beats me.

Talk about rare ribbon bars, how about this non combatant TWM ribbon bar with the miniature crescent. Hope you enjoy.

Recently got this one but still in the mail. A nice addition to my TWM collection. The grouping has also include the documents for the Hanseatic and the Iron Crosses.

A Godet miniature chain from my TWM collection, hope you enjoy!

I have two contributions to this great thread, first is the signature of Wilhelm Freiherr von Weckbecker from a rare K.u.K. document to an Ottoman Officer dated 1916.

Where is Otto Hersing's TWM residing now? Is it in a museum or in a family estate, I wondered where was that photo taken...

Is this Dönitz with his TWM in 1938?

Thank you so much for your opinion Robin. I wonder if I will ever find out!
