For sure! Wasn?t it Generalmajor Maximilian Graf von Yorck von Wartenburg who asphyxiated by a malfunctioning coal heater?
Count Waldersee died 1904 in Hannover.

Took some hours but I hope these excerpts can solve your questions.
The first one shows the promotion to "Oberarzt der Reserve" Page 931 Milit?rwochenblatt 1900 Band I
the second one shows the transfer to the prussians Page 2762 Milit?rwochenblatt 1900 Band II
and the last one shows his appointment to the "3. Bad. Drag. Regt. Prinz Karl Nr. 22" Page 152 Milit?rwochenblatt 1901 Band I

Why should he get the china-medal???
Excerpt from Milit?rwochenblatt 1901 Band II Seite 2071:
"Berlin, den 5. September 1901
Von den Begleitkommandos der Abl?sungsmannschaften f?r die Ostasiatische Besatzungsbrigade aus dem Heere ausgeschieden und gleichzeitig in der Ostasiat. Besatzungs- Brig angestellt:
Dr. Ambros, Oberarzt beim 3. bad. Dragoner Regt. Prinz Karl Nr. 22, beim 2. Ostasiat. Inf. Regt."
As I know received only those "Ostasiaten" the china-medal who were in China from 30. May 1900 till 29. June 1901
So Dr Ambros wasn?t legitimated for the china-medal.
@Komtur
Great estate!!!!

Wow an interesting Thread! Are there also russians awards known to the Saxons??? I had a picture of a saxon veteran, who got the MEZII, Milit?r. St. Heinrichs-Medaille, 1870/71-Denkm. and the russian St. George!
Best wishes

At first it?s a Vizefeldwebel (3 chevrons)!
No way to identify him. For GSWA were approx. 2805 MEZII awarded.
The 3rd one could be the colonial or china medal. Unfortunately has the pic a bad quality. But I would prefer a china-medal (due of the 2 battle clasps).

Hello Heiko,
I have no problem with the ribbon. Here a NCO of my collection. The same ribbon, only the red strikes are missing on your pic. Probably the flashlight is the reason for.
What do you think that it could also be???
Best wishes

Nice pic!
I mean that it could only be the GSWA-medal in bronze for fighters.

Order of Ernestine
in Germany: Imperial: The Orders, Decorations and Medals of The Imperial German States

I can only add some pictures.
For example this one.
A Sergeant of the "Schutztruppe" after the campaign against the Hereros and Hottentotten.
On the bar:
Milit?rehrenzeichen II
silberne Verdienstmedaille mit Schwertern des S?chs.-Ernestinischen Hausordens (Coburg-Gotha)
Deutsch-S?dwestafrika- Denkm?nze mit 5 Gefechtsspangen
A nice pic. but still without a name
