Sadly with the German decorations it is not possible to identifying them, except when they comes in a group, because rare are those with a name or other things (feldpost, unit...) engraved or scratched to the back side.

These were brought home by my grandfather,and MP with the 29th div. I found out this week they were worn on the caps of the First U Boot Flotille,based in Brest

What happened to Wilhelm Funke did he survive the war? It is unusal to have such a complete collection of medals and documents together.
Yes, he survived at war, and participated at veteran associations.

The localisation on the certificate is 'In See', as Wilhelm Funke was on the Panzerschiff 'Admiral Scheer' at this period, I think that is a bord made.
