Hello I would say that looks to be a Zinc casting not a stamping? And it kind of looks like the lettering was EDMed (electric discharged machining) into the casting cavity as opposed to engraved or cut into the casting cavity face? Stamped letters are very sharp and look different under a glass. thanks michael

I would say this is a war time made Souval, hardware matches what he used during the war and also has his R.S. on the rear as did most of his war-time stuff. However I am almost sure he also probably made some of these right after the war using up left-over stocks. mike
