    1. I may be way off here but to me the vehicle shown on the left appears to have a gun muzzle facing the camera,  there does not appear to be a muzzle brake of any kind and the smooth outline top right suggests to me that this may be a Sherman tank. The perspective of the photograph makes the figures on the left look large in comparison with this vehicle but there appears to me to be someone standing immediately next to it who would make the Sherman Tank theory appear about the right size.

The vehicle on the right appears to have fairly flat slab plates and I would suggest that this could be a Chevrolet C15 Truck. IMHO.

    2. Chris,

Sorry only just seen this post. His Medal Index Card shows his WW1 entitlement as the 1914-15 Star you have, BWM and Victory Medal.

He entered Theatre of War (5a) Asia on 9th December 1915 and served through to disembodiment on 13th June 1919.

It also shows him as  Warrant Officer Class 2 still serving with the Buffs using the Regimental Number 240007.

Will see what else I can find on him and let you know.

      Simon.

A quick check on the BWM and Victory Medal Rolls shows him as WO2 and gives his previous Unit as 1/5th Battalion East Kents which would have been his Unit in 1915, might be worth trying to find the Unit War Diary for the period to see if he is mentioned.

      Simon.

    3. Sorry, only just viewed this.

His Medal Index Card shows that Leonard Tomblin indeed served with the Regiment and is entitled to the Medals in your possession. He entered France as first theatre of war on 1st September 1915 and was discharged on 5th December 1918. He was also awarded the SWB Number B206140 for wounds received overseas and gives his date of enlistment as 7th September 1914.

      Regards Simon.
