Angolia & Schlicht's Die Kriegsmarine - Uniforms & Traditions - Page 88 and 93 gives this information about the positioning of insignia for Matrosen. Included in the pics for career abzeichen is the Flugmeldedienst patch.

Great photo Morten. Can someone please explain why the Flugmelder (Aircraft Warning/Spotter) patch is often seen on the lower sleeve. I thought it was a "Career" patch and would be placed above the rank chevron.
