Thank you utopis, for a nice scientific explanation ill try to find a new better location for those medals, to make it last longer.
i see so most of the modern materials are all bad to the for antiques and Thank you for sharing it.
Oh i see, wow that is an nice research Mr. Nick and additional knowledge to me also...happy to know it
so i got a replica box
but still happy and lucky that the medal are not fake
Thank you very much Mr. Nick, you have a clear and nice presentation
Here is some details of the box... what do you think???
some stain inside the box and the metal have some corrosion.....
in the lock can see the old one and the replacement that i have made
Haha you got it perfectly Mr. Nick, your like a detective of medals and Thank you also.... i have fix the broken clasp already, by replacing it came from a repro box also...to avoid accidentally open the box (fall out all the medals ) and to have more safety in the medals.
Thank you also Drclaw and welcome too. your right need patience and persistence, it is really nice to see a set of it in a box.
who want some beer
Hi Masanori,
i agree with Mr. Nick, color is strange to me. did you clean it or polish it?
and is the medal have reeded edge like in coin? or just smooth edge?
Ya i remember that Mr. Nick, it a big bonus in the buyer $5600 only in those set... and now it became $12500 in 2nd class only w/ little damage in enamel.....and the 2****y (5) really help the seller to have that price, lucky seller.
i think when a 2nd class or 1st class come again in ebay it will be more $$$ and price will be more higher.
