Thank you Rich! I view it as constructive. When time permits hopefully tomorrow I will create an account there and see what I can learn from it. I will take it out of storage to snap a couple pics of the writing on the flag. It has the names and dates of the journey. To be honest if it is a tourist trinket from 1940's I will be just as happy. Kind regards! George

Wow! I did not see that site. I read it instead of watching my daughter play soccer this morning. Thank you for digging that up.

I found this last summer and could not walk past it. There is a wiki page about PT 9 that is also interesting. I am on the east cost and the guy that I bought this from cleans out houses in ME and that is where he says it came from. If you have similar items please share here.

That is the site that I also found. Talk about a neat story. And a great item to possess. I am considering lending it to Battle Ship Cove here in MA in the summer. Thank you!

I have had this for at least 5 or 6 years. And when I worked for a global company I had asked a coworker in Japan to translate this for me. I am sharing looking to see if I am correct in assuming this is named to one of the last brave pilots to make the great sacrifice for his Emperor. Cheers, George

Now the pre war rifle, last ditch bayonet I will take pics of the sling later in the weekend. It would be fantastic to find out if the sling is unit marked or named. Bayonet is neat as well. Enjoy!

OK here goes! Ordinance - Flag it is small - and the Tunic. I would really like to know what type of tunic this is. Enjoy.

I forgot to mention I have a signed Arisaka rifle sling this particular Marine was on Iwo and Siapan. If there interest in seeing this it is very fragile but I am willing to take a couple pics.

Greetings, I have a Japanese summer Tunic and pants. Pic coming soon. I am interested to know why there is only one loop on the left hand side under the arm pit a little higher than the waist above the pleat. Very interesting to me. I cannot seem to find good images. This uniform was in a USMC sea bag that is full of 782 gear etc. I missed out on the katana. Also any interest in seeing some Japanese ordinance for assistance with identifying and a flag? I will post if there is interest. Many thanks! George

German State War Merit Cross 1st Class - Genuine?
jonsey2001 replied to Gregg78's topic in State, Civil Awards & Decorations
Hello, I have Robin Lumsden's book "Third Reich Militaria" on pg.52 L/15 is Otto Schickle, Pforzheim. And 15 is F.O. Friedrich Orth. Not sure if it makes any difference or if it was worth noting. Well and my wife just joked asking "what are you doing in the gentleman's club?" Cheers! George -
Greetings, I am sharing a couple images of two sets in my collection. The 3 ribbon set is English made with cross stitches and sterling clutches. The Second is on an Ike jacket (unfortunately no name or number) 2nd Army 33rd division. Cheers!

Greetings, I have posted in the signatures thread also. I am adding some pictures here because I am very interested and eager to know the subject matter of this book. I do not mind taking more pics to post of others are interested. Many thanks in advance. I know it is a legal gazette from Danzig it looks to be regulations of some sort the pic of the banner is interesting as I haven't seen one like that with the cross and wreath. I look forward to the response. Kind regards, George

Fake 4 awards civil and...
jonsey2001 replied to jonsey2001's topic in State, Civil Awards & Decorations
Thanks all! Not to worry. For a fair price I got a flag that would mount on a tank or car, 6 arm bands, WW1 imperial medals, bayonet and the list goes on. I had never seen any of these items before and I cannot find any trace they aren't in any of the books that I have nor are there any other examples on the WWW... I was hoping that the white enamel looking one was some sort of an award for cossacks or hungarian arrow cross members. I respect your opinions as I have been collecting for only a couple years. As time permits I will add a few more pictures of the other items. Thank you all! And happy new year! -
Greetings gentilmen! This s my first post in a militaria forum. With that I would like to say hello! I have recently aquired a fairly advanced collection of WW2 German and US medals and the like. Of particular interest are these 4 crosses of which I cannot find any referance, which is why I am here hoping to learn the purpose, dates of issue etc... https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=a424856ea8a1214b#cid=A424856EA8A1214B&id=A424856EA8A1214B%21373 I am sorry about the links... Best I can do at the moment. I sincerely thank you all in advance for any information. Also if there is a book that has German medals etc from 1800s through 1940's please pass on the title. Thanks in advance and kind regards! George
