Hello Henry, it was an indirect Vet buy and it came out of Karl Wolf's house along with a few pieces of Allach. Wolf was the head of Himmler's personal staff and Sollman was also on the staff. The badge is the only Sollman item that I own. Best, Erich
I thought that I would bring this thread back and add a few pieces from my collection. First is a small 1929 display which includes a cased plaque, post card and both silver and bronze badges.
I wanted to share this 24mm Deschler GPB from my collection that's attributed to SS Standartenfuhrer Max Sollmann who was the head of Lebensborn and on Himmlers personal staff. He was also awarded the Blood Order, Honor ring and SS Degan.
Andechs, I don't think your cased 29 RPT plaque is original. The lettering on the obverse is wrong as well as the details of the eagle are off. On the reverse the MM is in the wrong font. Reproductions of these cased awards are being sold in the UK. These awards cased are very rare. Here's a Vet acquired one from my collection to compare.
I finally think that Gau badges may be coming into their own. I have heard that a major collector/dealer has written a book that will be coming out soon with lots of photos of some very rare pieces.
Wessel, Is your plate a Pohl Julteller? My two Jultellers are like Mr. West's which were for presention by Himmler and in white. The colored versions were thought to have been possibly produced by another concern other than Allach. These colored plates were sold to the public.
