    1. Nice stuff is an understatement. Just in the past few days some almost one of a kinds have shown up. I'll become Jenn's best customer if I win that Lottery tomorrow night.
    2. Thanks....I didn't know about the reduction to single Bdes. That will help with further research. Ed
    3. I hope this is still available after I win the Lottery tomorrow night!!!! http://www.emedals.com/collectors-gallery/germany/german-medal-bars/imperial-medal-bars/a-fine-wwi-period-medal-bar-g11434 and this one also: http://www.emedals.com/collectors-gallery/germany/german-states/prussia/medals/golden-military-merit-cross-nco-s-plm/a-cased-golden-military-merit-cross-by-wagner-g11435
    4. Surely the quality is different. I believe because of different dies. The fine detail in one that is not in the other shows the difference in die quality. If that is not a possible reason then I put forth one was made in the morning and the other made later in the afternoon, based on the known fact that germans have 5-10 flippys with their lunch. Prost!!!!
    5. This guy is 100% certified ......as what is called, in French I'm not sure but in American/British a, PX/NAAFI soldier.
    6. Found out what I wanted to know that turned out not what I wanted to find out.... Thought I had leads on a Christmas Truce luger for sale belonging to an officer in the 16th Inf Rgt but it turned out it's from the 16th Reserve Inf Rgt. BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    7. My assumption is: The 16th Regt was almost decimated in early 1915 with the lost of 589 men, 16 were officers. The 27th Bde was made up with the 16th and the 53rd. My belief is that the losses were made up from the 53rd, was then deactivated and the 16th became part of the 79th giving the 79th bde, the 16th along with it's original 56th and 57th Inf Regts which is also how they stood at the end of hostilities. This would account for weapons and equipment recovered from those casualties of the 16th Regt early 1915, being assigned out to replacements in sister units later in 1915. Can anyone substantiate this assumption? Ed
    8. My research material puts this unit active during 1914 and 1915. After that the 27 Bde is no longer listed as part of the 14th Div but the 16th Inf Rgt stayed with the 14th Div by transferring to the 79th Bde. Anybody have some insight on what happened to the 27 Bde? Thanks Ed
    9. There will be some that us lower on the ladder can afford...hopefully, even after the commission.
    10. Go to the Firearms Division box and click, then click on the Highlights. Keep in mind, all those items are only previews. The actual whole auction will in March 14th. It will give you time to save up some pocket money..........
    11. We didn't carry AKs in Nam until the M-16s showed up for their looks!!!!!
    12. Yes, I took a tupperware bowl that fit the mutze and then cut it to fit the mutze just a bit less not to inflate the entire top. That gave it stiff support for the glass with decorated rocks. It still needs a glass a bit shorter, about 1-2 inches....IMO.
    13. It's just being single that matters because, I'm not rich but all my lady friends are. I have seen quite a few minenwerfer postcards lately.
    14. It just so happens that I know where a Minenwerfer unit marked Imperial Artillery Luger, complete rig including original shoulder stock is. Interested????
    15. I thought that wife of yours has expressed get rid of some to get more??? When are you going to start selling off to get more?
    16. Thanks Trooper for the comments..... In regards to my photo request, sometimes, because of my honesty, I don't think someone would do anything that Eric suggested. I should know better.
    17. Well best send me one privately then or I won't be able to put you on my Christmas shopping list.l
