    1. Here i have another card. It was taken in Sausheim /Elsaß (Alsace; today France) in 1917.

I think the guys are musicians. But why the do not wear those Schwalbennester?

The guy in the middle wears a very large medal bar. Is it possible to ID him / the unit?

Under his medal bar he is wearing the IC. I think pos. 1 is a bavarian MMC without X.

The 2nd guy on the left seems to be a bavarian official. He wears the ribbon to the MMC for war merit ("Beamtenband")

      Thanks for watching.

    2. I like the Waldeck bar but the price was really crazy.

Note that normally the war aid cross war worn on pos. 2. - not 3.  - your location is Malta - are you Wolf of the W.A.F.?

I am nearly sure, that the shown Frackspange of Gensui was worn by a marine guy - and a Ingenieur (officier´s grade)

It fits with the HHC and the Oldenburger on combatant ribbon. I think no paymaster - i`ve seen a lot of that guys with AEZ silver or bronce and sometimes with KO4 because they started as Mannschaftsgrad.

The most IC non combatant bars were worn by military officials and industrial guys -  not by medics. (only if they served on the home front)

Markus B. has a lot of navy data.

    3. This bar was definitely worn by a medic or doc because of the last decoration (ottoman red crescent medal with oaks) It fits with IC on combatant ribbon and TWM for combatants/ bulgarian MMO X

Sometimes you can find pieces with oaks on a Feldspange.

To find one on a regular medal bar is nearly unpossible. I have only seen a handful bar in the last years.

I have one of the bronce grades.

The Knopflochschleife with Johanniter was worn by a 1870/71 veteran. I think a person which served in the Freiwillige Krankenpflege or it was an official. No war fighter.

I think you cannot ID your button holes.

The RKM3 or 2 (red cross medal) was also worn by officials, nurses (on a Damenschleife) or some kind of other persons (for money donations)

Do (any of) you have photos of Stabsärzte or the like awarded with that medal?

Yes, i do.  (WW1) Stabsarzt Dr. Rosenthal or for example OSA. Dr. Ullrich

    4. Yes very good for us researchers - they took the most of the archive data outside of Stuttgart bevor  1944.

Especially i like the high detailed pics.

The most of M 707, 708 709 photos are saved on my PC - ...was a really hard work.

      -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Are we in or are we out?:)  -  nearly every day when i read the newspapers i think: What the hell they are doing over there???

If they will not chance their minds, i think you`re out .. hard out.?

    5. Hello again!

Here we have 2 "bavarian" pics, i recently got.

Can somebody help to ID the bavarian General on pic # 1 ?

He wears the IC, bavarian MMO on his neck & star. I think it`s a pic with his staff.

The pic was taken in bavaria.

      # 2 was taken in Freising. It shows a group of veterans. The NCO in the middle wears his bar in a funny way (or it is a Frackbar)

On pos. 1 bavarian MMC 3rd class with X and crown, IC and on the last position the rare bavarian bravery medal (i don`t know if it is the silver or golden grade)

I had luck - the seller did not know the rarity of the pic (postcard) - Can we ID the units? Infanterists? Jäger????

On the left a guy who looks a bit like the last russian czar Nikolaus. lol..

      Thanks again for help.

    6. Also a nice one - mir würde schon eine mit RAO3 ausreichen.

I think he was a higher official - Beamter im höheren Dienst - in a higher authority like a Oberegierungsrat, Direktor, Geheimrat or

something in that way. I have worked through the Siekmann 1917 and the HDR18 and Intendanturliste 1929 several times - and i had luck to find some

possible recipients of some of my bars. But that`s a lot of work. I did a lot of markings for finding EK2w recipients better.

One of the problems is, that lower decorations like Centenar, KDM70, Chinamedal.... are often not listed - or sometimes i could prove

with Papiernachlässe, that not all informations are correct. (for example with Ministerialbürodirektor Rettig, Rechnungshof DR, or Ministerialamtmann Reimann)

This time in the corners of the net there`s a interesting bar - but it is too expensive as i think.

I could find the recipient because of one striking decoration he had.

A Zahlmeister. And i could find more infos with old Adressbücher.

One more mystery solved.  Übung macht den Meister.

Nur kein Moos ansetzen (Das Boot)
