Another Saxon with the obligatory' fashion statement' on the EKII, the vaulted swords and the campaign clasps on the 1870-71 War Commemorative Medal! Thanks for the correction and the information, Gerd.
I thought it might be interesting and informative to look at the variety of swords, crowns, crowns and swords, sabers, symitars, crescent moons, EKs, wreaths, campaign clasps(authorized or not) and various other attachments that appear on our ribbon bars. If something terribly interesting shows up we can start a separate thread on the subject. I will begin with the swords and crown on the Reuss ribbon.
I think I will start a thread on unusual ribbon bar devices and see how it goes. There are many unusual examples of crowns, crown & swords, swords, etc. Perhaps we could catalog a few of them. Since most of those devices are found in the imperial (present topic excepted) I will begin there.
Hey! If I had a heritage of witchcraft behind me I could do the same thing! Most people who see that picture would probably think its done with clever software but we know the truth, don't we? And what about the awesome power of the pentangle and your covenant with the lords of the lower darkness...?
Lovely medal bar, Richard! Even lovelier ribbon bars especially with those perfectly wretched little orange ribbons on the end that only you are ordained by the Almighty to own. ...and in all 'seriousity' what you have done there is truly a once in a lifetime achievement. Nice. OBTW use the picture(s) as you wish with your renewed project. Standard industry practice applies. I expect 10% of the residuals. Would you like a retake so it's a little less crooked??? My scanner lid keeps knocking things out of alignment!
