So I take it you are blaming me for this?
Sure, i am blaming you for EVERYTHING!!! YOU started the 1st WW and the 2nd too, not to speak of Vietnam and Iraq
As i had so many Caucasus Ribbonbars, i decided to put them in a frame together with a Medal. I like it.

The second new addition Nr. 268.404, an interesting piece, which features a slight "trench reverse"

What an overwhelming response...
For Andreas and everyone else, who is interested.
This is the first one, we talked about on the phone, a nice early example, which isn?t classiefied in the Alex Filer Classification yet, like it seems. Nr. 101.270, unresearched yet.

Jim, i just pin them through the background material. They hold very well and if the fabric is stretched good enough, there aren?t any crinkels. I attach the fabric with very small stripes of both sided duct tape on the reverse of the wood, so, if there?s a need to replace the background, its very easily done.
Great displays everyone, btw
best,
Gerd

Ed, i think, Ilja is asking, how to distinguish a Taylors Copy of a BADR Medal from an awarded Medal.
best,
Gerd

Whoever it may be, its a wonderful bar with three of my favourite orders. Nice one, Don

Thanks for the explanation, Andrey

Ukaz gave HSU, HSL and full Glory cavaliers the right to have personal increased pensions (after-retirement money payments), several benefits for receiving own appartments from the government and others.
Andrey, how was it actually handled with the appartments? Did they have contingents of appartments, which they gave to HSU/HSL/Glory CVL, when they received their award or moved later after they got it?
Thanks
Gerd

Gentlemen,
i know, its a common award, but though, may i ask you to post the OPW 2nd classes in your collection for my education and enjoyment? Noticing that i have more than a dozen of them now, it seems i have a weakness for them.
Most of you know, i am one of these evil variations-collectors
and i have quite a few variations together now, but still would like to add some more, so if anyone of your has a "small version" or a trench-reverse for sale, shoot me a pm.
The most of mine are already posted on the forum, but to get the ball rolling, i?ll post again my current favourite piece, an starback Serialnumber 95477, researched, awarded May 1944 to Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Stepanovich Zolin, see http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=11140

Lavochkin's 54 is his Hero of Socialist Labor medal. Picture taken in a museum through the glass, sorry for the reflection
aaahhhhh, now i got it finally. I wondered, why he got HSL Nr. 33 much later than HSL Nr. 54, but the HSL Nr. 33 is a second award of course

I am not sure, what happened to my reply from the 31st?
Ed, regardless, if the photo is original to the book or not ( i lean towards okay just for the record), this is the coolest Military Merit Medal for Afghanistan, which i have ever seen. Probably the coolest at all.
What might a MMM like this may be worth? Definately not the usual 30 Dollar, you?d pay for an unnumbered MMM with Doc. I would consider it at least at 5 times the amount, what do you think? That may sound stupid, but i have never seen an Afghanistan award for sale(otherwise it would be in my collection). Its obvious, that they are very sought after...
Thanks in advance
Gerd

I forgive you
Once again, thanks

Excellent, thank you very much.
One last question, if you allow, the award with serialnumber 54 of Lavochkin is which one? Its really hard to read...

Yes, it looks to me too like the name was doctored. Why would they reissue used documents for such a Medal? Doesn?t make sense to me....
