Reverse..

Here are two different Austrian table type items. Both have felt on their backs. I assume that they are a table medal of some sort. Would love to hear your thoughts on these! I first thought they might be tinnies but was surprised to see no pinback and the felt. Your comments would be most welcome. Mike

First is a 100 year medal--1816-1916. It is 3 x 2 1/2 inches in size and is bronze in color.

Well, I have gone through my books and don't find it. It is a great looking stickpin but I lean towards it being a non-military stickpin. There are a lot of stickpins like this that were for many diffterent groups and organizations. A keeper either way in my mind! Nice looking stickpin. Mike

Christophe-thanks for the reply. I have a postcard of him when he was a child. Question to the ones who know--when was he born as he has a Centennial medal on his medal bar. Notice that he has five medals and only four ribbons?? Typical?? Mike

Here is a super cabinet style photo of the Kronprinzenpair. This is a great photo of them together, both wearing thier medals. I do have a question about him--Is this Prinz Wilhelm von-Preussen?

Here is the award--one thing to note on these awards. It seems that there were many varations to this badge. The difference being in the print on the ribbon. Many different towns in W?rttemburg issued these awards and each had their own town printed on the ribbon. This badge did not come with the award but is a example of what they look like.

As some of you know, my main interest these days is in Patriotic items, veteran related items, period pins-stickpins and reservist goodies.. Not a realy popular area of the hobby (which makes me happy!) but one that seems to be never ending. Every once in a while ya run into a document as well. Most common are the Hindenburg Cross award documents. Here is one that I picked up in Germany this year--This document is for the W?rttemburg Kriegerbund badge. This document is for a soldier from the town of Mengen and was award in 1932. Here is the document.

Maybe iit is an OLD fake! WWI was a long time ago! Bugs had plenty of time to get to it like they have most things from that time frame. Mike

Here is a ground find Middle Ages arrow point I picked up in Germany last month! All I need is a new collecting area! Mike

Well, I need the advise of the guru's of ribbon bars! Typical three place W?ttemburg ribbon bar---but! The ribbon on the end glows--none of the others do and check out the pin on the back..Have not had a rbbion bar with this kind of pin on a ribbon bar. Any thoughts??? Thanks! Mike
