I read an article about removing the wire stiffener...but I don't know what it is. The guy said it gave the hat a "Crushed Look" which I want. In the Picture I have my hat, and something I took out that shaped the peak of my hat. Is that the wire stiffener?

Where could I find a reproduction or authentic cap with a removable top? I've been wanting to find one but I've had hard luck, do any of y'all happen to know where I can find one for a cheap price?
