    1. A signature from a Major Clemens of Group Allg.III,(German prisoners of war in enemy lands and members of the Wehrmacht interned in neutral countries)

His signature can be seen on this Hilfskreuzer award document that was given to a crewman from the HK KORMORAN who was interned in Murchison POW camp (Lager 13) in Australia.

      .

    2. Most of the WW2 german badges were produced in the '57 version for wear when serving in the Bundeswher. They were identical to the war time issued ones minus the swastika.

      Larry is correct.

They were also worn in miniature form at veterans reunions, etc.

Here are a couple of pages from a "1957" award catalog showing the various Luftwaffe badges that were manufactured postwar without the swastika.

      Regards,Martin.

    3. Well, simply an outstanding collection Justin.

I have not seen this collection before so thanks for posting.

You have some rare cap tallies there, with my favorite being the very rare "Luftwaffenkommando see" tally.I know of only one other of these in a private collection.

I happen to collect photo's of the tallies in wear and here is couple that might be of interest to you,as you have the tallies.

First is this one from the Zerstorer "Hermann Schoemann",and again thanks for sharing your super collection.

      Regards,Martin.

    4. If you have to have only one Iron Cross, You chose a nice one.

      I think so Greg.

This group came to me indirectly from the family of Erich Kuhn.As a collector of WWII Hilfskreuzer related items this is definately a very special set for me.

In the book "Die Kreigsfahrt des Hilfskreuzers Atlantis",which was comiled by the ships Adjutant,Ulrich Mohr, there is a photo of Erich Kuhn.Next to the image in the book one of the family members wrote "My grandfather".

A very nice and personal comment and something that makes this this grouping very special,as i have mentioned.

      Regards,Martin.

    5. Here is the rest of the Kuhn groupintg that consists of his Juncker HK award,a Deumer 1939 Clasp to the 1914 EKII,a KM breast eagle,a postwar Atlantis traditions "shark" badge and two books. The "Atlantis" book has a signed dedication to Kuhn in the front from the Commander of the Atlantis,Bernhard Rogge.

      Regards,Martin.

    6. This is the only EKI have have in my entire collection but it is one of my favorite awards.

It came as part of a grouping that belonged to Erich "Papa" Kuhn, who was the 1st Officer on the Hilfskreuzer Atlantis.

A lovely three piece example of the 1914 cross that i think may have been made by Paul Meybauer, but i am not sure?

Anyway,i thought that i would share it here.

      Regards,Martin.

    7. That would appear to be U-57

That is what i first thought Laurence.

I have this image of what i think is the U-57 and it looks like Topp on the right of the conning tower?

The "Devil" symbol in this image is more towards the front of the tower and not on the side,as seen in Dede's photo.

However, this "Devil" symbol was later used by the U-552,U-794,U-1406 and the U-2513.

So,i am inclinded to think that this is perhaps a photo of one of these other boats ?

      Regards,Martin.
