Interesting.
The "Rio Grande" was a blockade runner and the "Bogota" was a supply tanker, both operating in the Far-East.
He probably would have been awarded the Blockadebrecher abz for serving on these ships.
Many former Thor crewmen made it back to Germany on the blockade runners.
Cheers,Martin.

Sorry to hear that.
What branch of the KM did he serve in after the Hilfskreuzers ?

Thank you, Martin. I would be very interested if you have pictures or informations about the second travel of the Thor, because my granduncle was on board there.
Do you have his name and rank ??
I have a lot of information and photo's from the THOR's second cruise.
Cheers,Martin.

Looking at his service record it appears he did not serve on any Hilfskreuzer.

Hi Martin W,
the photo of Torpedoboot Albatros is very nice, but the cap tally is not Imperial Navy. It´s Reichsmarine. The ship was put into service Mai 1928 and lost 1940. The two gentlemen flanking him are policemen, I think.
GreyC
Thanks for the info...
Cheers,Martin.

The Luft guy was probably a member of a Mausi Unit ?
They flew Ju 52's and were involved in Minesweeping operations.
Here's one that I have. What I like about this photo is that you can see that he is wearing a horizontal pin Minesweeper award by Deumer.
Cheers,Martin.

No idea on how many postcards were printed Edgar ?
This is a real photo PK and it was written by one of the U-9 crewmen and sent to his uncle with reference to the sinking of HMS Hawke.
Cheers,Martin.

Good evening gentlemen,
maybe we could ask a moderator or the starter of this thread Martin W to amend the heading with "Kaiserliche/Imperial and..." or the like so as to avoid disappointment of expectation of prospective viewers? Just an idea....
GreyC
I'm not a moderator here, and yes I started this thread years ago,and I titled it "Kriegsmarine" because I did not collect, and knew little about Imperial navy history, where as I was a collector of KM awards and photo's.
Yes,we can add pre-Kriesgsmarine tallies to the thread but I think the earlier tallies might benefit more in their own thread in the Imperial forum ??
Now I love to look at photo's and there has been some great stuff posted here over the years.
So, I pose this question to the main crontributors to this thread....Should we add the Kaiserliche/Imperial tallies and re-title the thread or ask for a new thread on pre-KM tallies to be added to the Imperial forum ??
I guess i'm good either way.
Regards,Martin.

Hello!
I wonder what to post today to capture the interest of more collectors than those who comment and contribute to the thread!
Cheers,Morten.
It's a specialized subject Morten that not many can contribute to,i think.
As mentioned, there is interest but not a day to day subject.
I have very little Narvik related items and what I have has been posted.
Regards,Martin.

Hi,
This is very well known fake also known as the 'puffy eye' fake.
It comes with different hardware setups and maker's marks, sometimes unmarked.
Berg & Nolte never made any KM award.
Cheers,Hubert
Hubert 'puffy eye' fake
I agree with Hubert.
It's a postwar reproduction.
